Mahama slams Abronye DC for claiming he spent Ghc1m on son’s birthday

Former President John Dramani Mahama has taken to Twitter to criticize a New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator for alleging that he spent lavishly on a party to mark his son’s birthday.

The Brong Ahafo Regional First Vice Chairman of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, is reported as having alleged that Mr. Mahama spent GHc1 million on his son’s birthday in London.

But the former President has described the allegations as “fevered hallucinations.”

He said the NPP communicator had clearly run out of propaganda.

The reported statement from Mr. Baffoe alleged that the former President bought his son a Range Rover worth over $100,000, and a Mercedes Benz SLK which is also worth over $56,000 as birthday gifts.

This is despite the former President’s current economic hardship, according to him.

Happy birthday Sharaf. 21 years. Begining of adulthood. You are young only once! Enjoy your day.

“It’s been less than three months now since Mahama was crying over hardships, but I just heard he has spent over $156,000 on his son. President Mahama bought for his son on his Birthday a Range Rover worth over $100,000, and a Mercedes Benz SLK costing over $56,000.”

After all this huge expenditures by John Mahama, he will later go and cry to his “NDC foot soldiers” that, he is poor and that, the Akufo-Addo administration is ill-treating him. He further tells them that, the economy is very porous and that, he (Mahama) is even being catered for by his wife Lordina”.

Mr. John Dramani Mahama is among about eleven persons seeking to lead the NDC in the 2020 elections.
